Absentee Ballot Information

⚠ Important Absentee Ballot Timeline Concern

By law, absentee ballots must be mailed out at least 30 days before Election Day.
However, in districts with an October 7 primary, ballots for the November 4 general election cannot be mailed on time because the Board of Elections must wait for:

  • Canvass results from the primary

  • The protest period to expire

  • Ballots to be printed afterward

What this means: If you live in a district with an October 7 primary and plan to vote by mail in the November 4 general election, you will have less time to receive, complete, and return your ballot.

📝 Absentee Voting Rules You Must Follow

  • Ballots must be received no later than 7:30 PM on Election Day — there is no longer a 3-day postmark grace period.

  • You must include either two witness signatures OR one notary.

  • You must enclose a copy of your photo ID with your ballot.
